The whin spreads a golden blanket o’er the deserted ground, But look! there are hidden treasures, for a wealth of flowers abound! There are dandelions, daisies, pink clover, feverfew, Meadow-sweet and bramble, common sorrel and sundew. Sweet violets, proud thistles, forget-me-nots and dock, Bluebell, poppy, buttercup and tall hollyhock! And all around, like sentinels, the proud buddleia stand Guarding, with spear-headed branches, this precious “wonderland”.
