The Third Skein! - Greta's Poetry

Three skein of geese traversed the sky
The first seemed fearless, strong,
The second followed close behind
In faultless echelon.

The third seemed slightly weary,
Not as fit as all the rest,
But bravely flying onwards,
And giving their best.

Methinks, we can’t all leaders be,
Not even be second in Command!
But, surely, we can stand the test,
And, like the third skein:
“Give of our best”!
