Poor Judas, was it “meant to be?”
That finasl kiss of treachery?
Poor Judas – what a destiny!
(It could have been you or me)

Poor Judas, in the “scheme of things”
Yours was to betray the “King of Kings”,
Poor Judas, how were you to see,
God’s ordained plan to set men free?
(It could have been you or me!)

Poor Judas, despised, in deep despair,
Silver pieces scattered everywhere,
Then hanging, rejected, on that tree.
