The sun sinks slowly in the sky, As weary seabirds homeward fly, But soon, bright Venus will appear, With starry hosts, our way to cheer! Bats and barn-owls, then, take flight To search and hunt, throughout the night; Whilst Venus, serenely, westward glides, Then, mysteriously, behind “the dawning” hides!
