Christmastide

Children playing in the snow
Little faces all aglow
Soon the tree to decorate,
Then, help Mum ice the Christmas cake.
Next, each to write their “Santa Note”
And watch it up the chimney float.
Then, to sit around the cosy hearth
And listen to the story of Jesus’ birth.
